Background

I am from the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, and I graduated from West Chester University with honors in History and Anthropology. In 2011, I moved to Kentucky to join the University of Kentucky’s Anthropology PhD program and study the socio-economic context, the cultural meaning, and the nutritional realities of food. After two successful years in this program and considerable introspection, I decided to change the course of my career by leaving that PhD program in good standing to pursue the new goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. In 2015, I graduated with honors in Dietetics and Human Nutrition (DHN); in 2016 I completed my dietetic internship in the same department at the University of Kentucky. Life has a fun way of going in circles. In 2018 I re-enrolled in the University of Kentucky's Anthropology program and completed my Masters degree in Applied Anthropology.

I became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2016, and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor in summer 2017. I currently work for the national Superfund Research Project Community Engagement Core through the Dietetics and Human Nutrition department at UK. My projects look for innovative ways to help low income and older adults access and afford fresh fruits and vegetables.

I am incredibly passionate about Intuitive Eating. I have given guest lectures at UK as well as public discussions about Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size. If you are interested in organizing a lecture on Intuitive Eating, please contact me!
In my free time, I love to grow vegetables (and cook them!) with my husband, Brett Wolff. I also enjoy knitting (socks in particular) and reading (favorite fiction authors: Mark Z. Danielewski, Donna Tartt, Tana French, and hundreds of others). Brett and I have a sweet rescue mutt who likes to take us for walks.
